Et voila la cruche finalisée. La dernière étape consistait à passer un émail transparent, qui a un peu « mangé » l’engobe blanc qui n’était pas passé en couche assez épaisse.

Pour ceux qui ne sont pas familiers avec la poterie, l’émail n’est pas un message envoyé par Internet .L’émail est un verre composé notamment de silice, de feldspath, de kaolin et d’oxydes métalliques. Ce mélange (proche d’une terre, ou d’une pâte) se vitrifie sous l’action de la température lors de la cuisson.

selon Wikipedia: « L’engobe est un revêtement mince à base d’argile délayée (colorée ou non) appliqué sur une pièce céramique (tesson) pour en modifier sa couleur naturelle, pour lui donner un aspect lisse ou pour obtenir une couche aux propriétés physico-chimiques spécifiques réagissant avec l’émail. »
