Al Musiqa invite à un voyage visuel et sonore allant de l’Arabie Heureuse de la reine de Saba jusqu’à l’Andalousie du grand musicien Zyriab, de la période préislamique, en passant par l’âge d’or égyptien de la diva Oum Kalsoum, jusqu’à la scène pop, rap ou électro, sortie dans les rues depuis les révolutions arabes.
Conçue comme une vaste exploration de formes musicales à la fois traditionnelles et contemporaines, mystiques et profanes, populaires et savantes, l’exposition propose de traverser des paysages immersifs comme le désert du Hedjaz, le jardin andalou, le cinéma égyptien, la zaouïa africaine, le café oranais, le salon oriental-occidental.

Al Musiqa takes the visitor on a journey of sights and sounds, from the Queen of Shebaʼs Arabia Felix to the Andalusia of the great musician Ziryab, from the pre-Islamic period and the Golden Age of Egypt with the diva Oum Kalthoum to the pop, rap and electro scene that has emerged on the street since the Arab revolutions.
Designed as a vast exploration of musical forms that are traditional and contemporary, mystical and secular, and popular and serious art, the exhibition takes us through immersive landscapes such as the Hejaz desert, the Andalusian garden, the Egyptian movie theatre, the African zaouia, the Oranian café, and the East-West living room.

يوجّه هذا المعرض دعوةً للزائر للخوض في رحلةٍ سمعية بصرية من عصر الجاهلية إلى يومنا هذا، مرورا بزرياب في الأندلس والعصر الذهبي للموسيقى المصرية مع كوكب الشرق أم كلثوم، وصولا للموسيقى الالكترونية والبوب والراب التي نزلت إلى الشوارع إبّان الثورات العربية.
صُمِّم المعرض على أنه رحلة استكشافية واسعة للأنماط الموسيقية في العالم العربي، التراثية منها أو المعاصرة، الدينية أو الدنيوية، الشعبية أو الراقية؛ وذلك بفضل ديكورات تجعل الزائر ينغمس في جو الصحراء، أو في رحاب حديقة أندلسية أو في إحدى دور السينما بمصر أو زاوية من زوايا التصوّف الأفريقية، أو مقهى في حي بَربيس بباريس، أو في وسط ساحة عامة مكتظة بالمارّة في عاصمة من العواصم
